Had been done ?

Dear teachers and fellow friends,

Have you ever heard someone is using this sentence. “Had been done” I’m not sure whether it is correct or not, but my friend use it a lot in his email.

According to English Page verb tense table, I couldn’t find any example that have combination of had + been + past participle, but they do have had + been + present participle (root word )

This is not a sentence, but just a verb form. 'had been + past participle' is the past perfect tense in the passive voice. It's completely correct.

Let me know if i am correct:

this has been done = this is done
I have been awarded = I am awarded
This had been done = this was/were done

Well, all of those phrasings have different uses, Anon, so I have to say that you are wrong.

Where were you all these days?

I had been to France.

I had gone to France.

Are both correct? For some reason I prefer the latter.
