Had and have

I guess it's a simple thing but I really need to clarify myself. So can anyone tell me when can I use "Had" and when can't I? The same question for the use of "Have".

"have" or "has" is the present tense. "had" is the past.

I have the flu. (now)
I had the flu last week. (not now)
