Should I include or get rid of the 'had'? FYI- Kitiara is the highlord and Laurana is the princess.
Kitiara’s forces were driven from Kalaman and pushed back on several fronts by the Whitestone Army, until the highlord devised a deceitful plot to capture Laurana. The elven princess was captured as Kitiara (had) planned and was imprisoned in Neraka, temporarily halting the advance of the Whitestone Forces.
