ha-ha and aha

When I try to express that I'm laughing I write:  ha ha... and to express that I have understood something I write:  Aha...

Now I've read that these expressions may convey scorn. Is this true?
Thank you.

Only in a situation where scornful laughter or recognition might occur. That is the innate ambiguity of communicating with almost any word in the language.
