Gypsy cabs (in US)

Hi guys,

I'm totally stuck at howto translate the word binding "gypsy cabs"...Emotion: sad

Can I go with "every now and then cabs"? Or "cabs at hand wave"?

Or what would you use? I can't go with gypsy cabs...It sounds like that the cabs are driven by gipsies...Emotion: smile

thanks a lot in advance.

In New York, gypsy cabs are unlicensed and do not have a meter.

So, if the context is New York, you can go with "illegal" or "unlicensed."
