Guts

Hi
Do you use "guts" (=courage) as singular or as plural?
Ex.:
"Too MUCH guts can kill you" / "Too MANY guts can kill you"
By the number of results on Google, I'd say it's the first one (the second one maybe implying guts-based food), but I thought I'd ask just to be safe.

Micawber thank you. The sentence was only an example. I was especially interested in the "too much guts" part, which I understand it's maybe uncommon but acceptable especially in a grotesque/humorous acceptation.
