Grow old & get/become old

Is there a difference between "to grow old" and "to get/become old"?

By the way, is it "to get old" or "to become old"?

Thank you.

All three are possible with the same meaning. get old is very commonly used. grow old is more formal to my ear, but also often used.

If you want just one general-purpose word for this, use 'get'.
