grow into it

Let's say a parent bought a kid a huge T-shirt. The kid complains and the parent says "Don't worry. You'll grow into it"

Does it imply over time, it will fit you? If not, how do you say that?

Thanks.

over time, it will fit you - It is exactly that. You will grow, and then it will fit you.

With 2 young children I know all about that!

They also grow out of/outgrow their clothes.
