Grouped according

Verbs are presented in small series of three or four at a time, grouped according to a common meaning or function e.g go away (leave) ? walk away (leave in a dignified manner)
Does "grouped" function as a past participle modifying subject- verbs? Or it is a regular verb in passive form here?
Thanks
