Let's say that you're taking an oral exam and the teacher is asking you a lot of additional questions.
"She was really grilling me for details."
"She was probing me for details."
"She put me through my paces and wanted to hear the exact wording of some of the definitions."
Are all these correct and could you perhaps think of any other alternatives?
