Grew up grow up have grown up

Hi
Is the tense in the following sentence correct or should I use grew up or grow up? I not sure of the difference. They all seem all OK to me but is one better when speaking generally

The differences in people I meet depend on where they have grown up

Thanks for any help

... depend on where they [have grown up / grew up].

I don't sense a great deal of difference in meaning. Neither one strikes me as wrong. They are both fine.
