Greetings on E-mail

I'd like to ask if the following expression is used on e-mail as greetings.

"It's very nice to meet you via e-mail"

I would appreciate if you could advise me.

Well, the grammar is fine, but I have never heard that particular phrase. Normally, we are using email when we write that, so we usually just say 'It's nice to meet you'. Of course, that would not be the greeting.

  • The greeting of a letter is 'Hi, Mister Micawber' or 'Dear Mr Micawber', and then the next sentence might be 'Nice to meet you'.
