greeting

Hi teachers,

Situation: I go for an interview and there is more than one interviewer in the room where the recruitment is going on. Let's say there are three persons who are interviewing.

I open the door and say 'May I come in sirs?' One of them, in response, say - yes, come in. Now, what should I say first? I mean how should I start the conversation?

For example, Should I say the following (after getting inside)?

1st - may I sit, sir? (or wait for the interviewers to say 'sit down' to me?)

2nd- if there are three persons or more than three, how should I greet them? Should I say, 'Hi to all', good morning (if it's morning) to all', or should I say something else?

Thank you teachers.
Laborious.

  • ' One of them, in response, say - yes, come in.
  • Now, what should I say first?
  • I mean how should I start the conversation?
  • In most interviews, you are told when to go in, so the question is irrelevant.
  • A simple Good morning/afternoon' is appropriate.

Actually, people around me always use 'sir' or 'madam' when they are having a conversation with someone senior, especially at their work places. That's why I thought that It would be a good ide

'Good morning, sirs' sounds OK to me.

'Good morning, madams' sounds odd, but I suppose it is OK. Are they all likely to be women?.

The interviewers will tell you what to do. Just be prepared. Here are some resources:

Firstly, Thank you very much, for your reply.

Secondly, I can't say for sure about that, sir. There could be only men , only women , or both.

I'm so nervous, probably because I have no idea about the questions the recruiters or the interviewers may ask.

Thank you again, for your help.
