Vocabulary

Greed and covetousness go together.

Hi,

I came across this sentence:
Greed and covetousness go together.

It seems to distinguish greed from covetusness.
But I can't see there are lots of differences.
What do you think?
Thanks.

There may be some overlap. Both are the strong desire to possess. However, greed is more self-centered (ignoring others), while coveting focuses on what other people have or are.
