Great deal + verb

Hello everyone.
Should I say "this subject involves a GREAT DEAL OF THINKING" or "this subject involves a GREAT DEAL OF THOUGHT?"
Thank you in advance.

Hi, Both are OK, although I would expect 'thought' to be more common. I don't know your context, but you might consider saying 'requires' instead of 'involves'. Clive
