Gratuitous tuition / tuition is gratuitous

Hi teachers,

Free is anonymous to Gratuitous. Can you please tell me if the following usage are correct?

1. The tuition is gratuitous. (gratuitous at the end)
2. He received a gratuitous tuition. (gratuitous before a noun)
3. The tuition is free. (free at the end)
4. He received a free tuition. (free before a noun)

Free is anonymous to Gratuitous. Can you please tell me if the following usage are correct?
Gratuitous also has another meaning;- uncalled for, unwarranted (eg The TV show had a lot of gratuitous violence.)
This is used much more commonly than the 'free' meaning.
