Granted to

Hi,

I read the following:
'whereas “everlasting” means “the life which did not always exist but was granted to God and it was forever, running within time, or something similar, which has a beginning but no end.”

Does grant to mean 'given by' here?

Thanks.

It is hard to tell. If so, it is a typing error and should read 'granted by '. On the other hand, it could mean that some greater entity gave the control of life to ***.
