Grammer Question

I want to compare results of two scientific cases and I have a grammatical problem with the preposition:
It is also observed that for a determined situation the magnitude of critical follower force and flutter frequency of non-uniform beam "in the case (2) is lower than in the case (1)".
I want to know that the expression between "" is correct?

No definite article before "case."

Tank you very much, if I define the two cases in some paragraph before, then does it necessary to omit "the"s in my sentence? and in your opinion the preposition "in" is right is in the sentence?
