Grammer corrections in quoted text.

Hello. Could someone, please, help me properly correct this quoted text. I am writing a critique for a scientific paper.

Original: “This is possible as a combination of classifiers is in fact a combination of columns from the binary matrix of outputs and majority voting applied to such a combination returns a column of binary outputs, which can be perceived as a higher level classifier.”

My Suggestion: “This is possible[,] as a combination of classifiers is in fact a combination of columns from the binary matrix of outputs[.]” “[M]ajority voting applied to such a combination returns a column of binary outputs, which can be perceived as a higher level classifier.”

I am not sure if I should add the comma after "possible," and I would like to know if the brackets are used correctly. Thanks in advance!

Your addition of the first comma is good. Your change from one sentence to two sentences is unnecessary.

I feel as though they are two seperate thoughts, subject and verb thoughts. Should they at least have a ", and" seperating the run-on sentence?

It is not a run-on sentence, but yes: a comma before that 'and'.
