1. ‘I’ve called Eddie a hundred times but he won’t answer the phone.’
‘Try once more. He will be sleeping .’

Is this dialogue correct?

I think its wrong as the speaker is mentioning about an action which is taking place at the same time he speaks.
2. "I have called Eddie a hundred times,but he is not answering the phone."
"Try once more.He must be sleeping'
Is this dialogue(2) Correct?
