Grammatically incorrect to say "Are any of these..."

I have just had a grammar checker software flag up the phrase "Are any of these incorrect" as grammatically unsound. It says I must change "Are" to "Is." Its reasoning is that the pronoun "any" is singular and needs a singular verb.

Is that correct? When I say it out loud, "Is any of these incorrect" sounds very awkward.

Your instincts (in this case) are better than the software. The only way I would use "is" would be in "Is any one of these incorrect?"

OK, I thought so. Thank you both for your answers.
