Grammatically correct?

Could anyone help me with this sentence please! How can it be improvised? Doesnt sound natural to me.

The court held that If there was no disclaimer in the beginning of the movie and there is a real person by that name which is shown in movie and people start associating that person with the fictitious character then the defendant will be liable.
