Hi. Is the following grammatically correct? Is the comma in place? 'Hormones make poultry and cattle grow twice the average size in half the time, reducing the cost of production and increasing the produce.'
I recently submitted a paper in which I had written: Food, Inc. is quick to praise companies like Wal-Mart that are now putting more organic and healthy food on the shelves, thereby enabling traditional farmers to grow organic food at retail level. My professor struck off 'thereby', but not the comma. She has a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition from Purdue University.
