Grammatically?

Everyday, we walk for 10 miles to the villages around our town.

I'd like to know whether it is grammatically correct to use the word 'for' after the verb 'walk'.

The given sentence should be: "Every day, we walk to the villages around our town. The total distance that we walk is 10 miles."

The phrase, "walk for," is used in a time context, for example:

"We walked for 10 minutes until we came to the first village outside our town."

Every day [two words; no comma] we walk for 10 miles to the villages around our town.

As shown. (No 'for'.)
