Grammatical errors

In the following sentence I feel the underlined portion is not the correct way to express one's thoughts


Thanks a lot...however we did manage to get mini-conference through some adjustments with another group.

The idea conveyed is that the person was able to get a booking in the conference room by making some slot adjustments with another group. Can someone help word the sentence correctly.
