grammarlady?

hi,

does anyone who posts here happen to know why the grammarlady forum, is no longer in existence? i joined it a year ago but have been offline, due to computer woes in my household. this past week i checked the link, and the site was gone! it was a very active forum with a lot of linguistics debating.

this is a wonderful message board, too!

After the Grammar Lady died, the site was inactive for a few months. It is back and going strong at

Mary Bruder, who sponsored the site, died in 2004 and the site went inactive. While she used the site to offer her professional services, the main attraction seemed to be the Q&A boards. The message board members started their own "Grammar and Language Message Board" at www.grammarboard.com. That's the successor to the message board portion of the GrammarLady site. Apparently someone purchase

The Grammar Lady, Mary Bruder, died. Her heirs allowed the site to stay open for a while, but then shut it down and sold the domain name. Many of the most devoted members established their own site, www.grammarboard.com. It's still going, although attendance and postings are down. You could also try Grammarmudge's site. Google "grammarmudge" for the URL.
