No. At the very least, use 'thing' with 'is' or 'things' with 'are'.

A little differently, you'll see both of these:

What I hate is dogs.
Dogs are what I hate.

You may also see What I hate are dogs, but it's much less likely you'll see Dogs is what

Technically, it's incorrect, but it is accepted by many. If you say it in an ordinary everyday conversation, nobody is going to notice it as a bad mistake.
