I have been struggling with this grammar test. I have included my choices. This is supposed to follow AP format, which apparently I don't know.

The Tuscaloosa Fire Department is capitalized because it refers to a particular named entity.

The "all of the sudden" wording is wrong. It is all of a sudden.

For 9, the third one seems to be right.

It would be helpful if you put the letters against the options.

Is 1c "After being marinated for two hours and then flash fried, the Smiths enjoyed their Alaskan King Crab that they were looking forward to all week."?

If so, that isn't right. It means that the Smiths were marinated and flash fried. Also, "had been" is better than "were".
