grammar: quotation marks

when you quote somebody's words, do you put quotation marks or capitalize them or put a colon or put the full-stop in the quotation marks?
example: I recalled Bobby's words: "Hi‘.
or : I recalled Bobby's words: Hi.
or : I recalled Bobby's words: hi.
or : I recalled Bobby's words: "hi".
or : I recalled Bobby's words, "Hi".
or : I recalled Bobby's words: "Hi."
or blah blah blah...
I think the correct answer is : I recalled Bobby's words: "Hi".
