Grammar questions which bother me

Hello. I'm having trouble with a few things and appreciate some help.
Could you please tell which of the following sentences are corr ect:
1) We need to learn to control the device and to fix the lever.
2) We need to learn to control the device and fix the lever.
3) We have to kind kind to others, in the knowledge that they are only doing the best they know how.
4) We have to kind kind to others in the knowledge that they are only doing the best they know how.
