[grammar question] where should I place the apostrophe in this sentence?

Dear Users,

Is there any way to paraphrase this sentence into one with 's?

Do you remember the name of that girl from New York whom Tom liked?

This one doesn't work I suppose, but I'm not sure why.

Do you remember that New York girl's name whom Tom liked?

Thanks

Do you remember the name of that girl from New York whom Tom liked? I can't think of a natural one. Do you remember that New York girl's name whom Tom liked?

  • Do you remember the name of that girl from New York whom Tom liked?
  • I can't think of a natural one.
  • Do you remember that New York girl's name whom Tom liked?
  • The 'whom' appears to have 'name' as its antecedent.
  • That's why it doesn't work.
