Hmm... Thanks deadrat. I'm not quite sure why there's would in that sentence... I've never seen a conditional sentence like that...

I just looked at the structure. The sentence is certainly ill-written. I think it means "Don't hurry on my account," but I'm not sure.

Perhaps he wanted to say: If it were up to me, I wouldn't hurry or If I were you, I wouldn't hurry?

Not quite, I think. Too many first person pronouns in the first. How about, "Don't hurry on my account"?
