Grammar question: verb drive

Hello,

I'm traducing to Spanish a text, and have found this phrase: "I drive places on ‘automatic pilot’ and then wonder why I went there"; here, "drive" means exclusively "drive a car", or the meaning is wider, including things like guiding myself towards places, no necessarily by car? Thanks very much.

It means drive some kind of vehicle. Very probably it means "drive a car". It could also refer to some other kind of vehicle, like a truck, but I would assume a car unless the context obviously suggests something else.
