Hello there,

Would you please be so kind and have a look at the following sentence and then help me resolve my doubts?

I'm pretty sure I understand you much better than others do and I think you know it.


1) If we skip the underlinded do will the meaning change?
2) Does this sentence mean that I understand this person better than other people understand her or does it actually say that I understand her better than I understand other people?

It's a bit unclear to me... Maybe I'm splitting hair here.
