Grammar question no. 4 - girls make up their face/faces

Dear All,

I'm not quite sure whether I should use the singular or plural form of the word facein the following sentence. We're talking here about many girls, not just one... But on the other hand it sounds somewhat weird to me to use the plural form... After all, every girl has only one face Emotion: wink

Girls usually make up their face/faces in the morning.

Thanks!

Both are OK. The plural will not make us think that girls have two faces. Clive

I see. Hmm, perhaps it's against logic to think that they might have two faces, but what about this example?

It's not really about the meaning itself... I just wanna know whether native speakers use the plural or singular form in these examples.
