Grammar Question - Help Please!

Hi,

I have a quick question and would appreciate a response. I recently wrote a letter in which I wrote the following:

"I endeavoured to participate in stupid behaviour". Can this be interpreted as "I undertook the participation of stupid behaviour", because I wasn't stating that I was TRYING to engage in stupid behaviour, I was stating that I DID engage in it.

Did I use the word 'endeavour' correctly? As I know that it can be used in the context of a 'past event' as opposed to a 'future attempt'.

Thank you very much.

Zippy, welcome to the forums, but please be patient. Two hours is not a very long time, especially on New Years Day.

If you say you endeavored to do something, it means you tried to do it.

I don't think you want to say that.
