Third person singular verbs all end in "s." Words that end in "y" with a consonant before the "y" drop the "y" and add "es."

He reads her letters every day.
Paul goes to the university on Saturdays.
He likes to study in the library.
The carpenter is very talented.
He builds all kinds of things.
