Grammar Question

Hi,

First time poster here.

Which is the proper construction, a or b? Are both ok?

a) I look forward to hearing from my girlfriend and my family.

or

b) I look forward to hearing from my girlfriend and family

I am inclined toward (a) because one is singular and one is plural.

Thank you in advance for answering my question!
