Grammar Question!!!

Hi everyone I am english beginner I am totally confuse sometimes.
For example there is a famous american TV show it names:
"HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER?"
According my english lesson there is a mistake about the grammar:
It could be like this:
"HOW DID I MEET YOUR MOTHER?"
Can any native explain me what is the correct one? and Why?

There is no question mark in the name - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_I_Met_Your_Mother. It is not a question.

Think of it as 'The way I met your mother'.
