Grammar question

Although with few people around the scope of our activities is limited, it is compensated by the satisfaction that we gained from the warm atmosphere.

Why does the author use the verb "gain" at past tense? Is it not correct to say "...that we gain from.." ?

Top answer

Although with few people around the scope of our activities is limited, it is compensated by the satisfaction that we gained from the warm atmosphere. Are you sure that you typed this correctly? If you typed it as the author wrote it, there are more problems than the mismatch of the tenses in the clauses.
