Grammar question

Is it wrong for me to say, "Could i call for the bill, please?" Since most people would use, "Could i have the bill, please."

Which part of the sentence is wrong when i use call for the bill?

Thanks

' sounds like you are asking permission to ask for the bill, rather than simply asking for the bill. I don't think the sentence is technically wrong, but 'call' is just not generally used in this circumstance.
