Grammar Question

Hello, I am teaching English to a Serbian young woman who did her undergraduate studies in Serbia. She asked when to use "water" vs. "waters" I know but I cannot explain why. Does anyone know the rule or a resource to find it. Also, I am absolutley desperate to find materials/curriculum that meets the needs of Serbian to English ESL students. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
