Grammar query.

Hi. I have a question regarding the use of "found" and "have found"

1. A survey has found that most people are now against shared-space schemes.

2. The survey found that religious values are similarly important.

May I know what is the difference between "Has found" and "found" in these two sentences? It seems like both are the same with subtle differences.

Top answer

There is very little difference. The present perfect gives the idea of the survey being more recently completed, and that the conclusion represents the current situation.
