Grammar Problems

I'm an English learner. I still make mistakes, in spite of all my effort to use the language correctly. I am hoping that you can point out about five mistakes in my writing, so that I can learn from them. Five are more than enough. Sometimes less is more. Thank you so much for your help. Here is a two-paragraph excerpt from the article I wrote on my trip to Cameron Highlands during vacation.

After checking out the hotel, we ambled to MALDI again, appreciating the beautiful nature along the road in the countryside. Though the beautiful garden I saw two years ago had been demolished and the flowing water in the river along the road had turned muddy, it’s a pleasant walk. The sky was clear and blue with puffy drifting clouds shimmering in the sunlight. The sunlight was soothing and warm in the cool weather. On one side of the road was a well-trimmed green field and a small school, while the other side of the road was some small countryside houses with hills covered with moss, ferns, pine trees, and other wild mountainous plants in the backdrop. Along the road, there was a wooden country bridge spanning the river serving as a perfect place for us to rest our feet. The bridge was really a perfect place to savor a book. I could hear the water flowing below me, and the sunlight was just light enough. When I raised my head from the book, I could see the picturesque view of fir trees lining on both sides of the river on the fresh green grass.

I had come to MALDI two times, but I still enjoyed coming here to look for the beauty that I might have overlooked during my past visits. I particularly loved to see tufts of colourful flowers in display -- snapdragons, the colors of yellow raising sun, blood red, gentle pink, and purple in the sunlight vying for attention, the low-hanging willow trees looking down at the green pond in sorrow, a bunch of mini carnation smiling to the tourists brightly.

Thank you Mister Micawber for your time. Here is my correction. I tried to use dictionary to help me with the correction, but I'm still not sure whether they're correct. Thank you for checking them for me.
