Grammar Problems?

Is betrayed
Was betrayed
Was betray

What's different between these three ?
Also please take a look at this sentence,
X's followers told him that XX is betrayed X since someone saw him rushed into the huge army of XXX.
X said he would kill XX next time he sees him.

Are these correct ? I'm writing the whole thing in past tense.
