I don't know why I use present continuous for these words "increases" and "decreases" in the below paragraph, not present simple. Do you explain to me? Thanks.
This is my homework to improve my grammar skill. I am learning the "Grammar for IELTS with answer" book by Diana Hopkins and Pauline Cullen.
For the graphs, we are seeing (see) that the number of employees employed by this firm increases each year and the number of employees leaving after less than five years decreases.

I don't really understand this. In the text that you posted, you don't use present continuous for those verbs. Do you mean to say "I don't know why I should use present continuous"? Has someone told you
