their sailing certificates hung side by side in the livng room to symbolize their commitment to trying new things in life and to inspire thir children to try newsports and activities.

in this sentebnce, 'to trying' what kind of grammar structure is used here? cause I thougt that after 'to' we can use only infinitive form but why this sentence allow to use ing form? thank u
