Grammar or word help please?

Hi,

Could you please check for me if I am making any mistakes in these sentences?

That idea has a wide currency. (Is this a correct word to be used here?)

I added more [ score / tally ] in last minutes of the game. (Both of them are correct, however score is more common?)

I am still [ counting / scoring / tallying ] my score. (Counting is more common?)

I tried to heighten an effect. (Is this a correct word here or do you have a better word here?)

He was injured in a shooting [ accident / incident ]. (Both of them are possible?)

Cheers
