too finicky 7 Jane- "I am at college only "or should it be" I am only at college" ? The second one would be much more usual. The first is not completely impossible.

  • The second one would be much more usual.
  • The first is not completely impossible.
  • In ordinary speech, "I am" is usually contracted to "I'm".
  • In this case, "only" implies that college is a normal or routine place for you to be, and your being there is not surprising or especially interesting.
