Grammar issue for "Single Ladies".. anyone?

If you liked it, then you should have put a ring on it.

It might be more appropriate if It is written like If you liked it, then you should put a ring on it.

"should have put a ring on it" means about past, which errs with clause "If you liked it" -- fondness at present.

how do you think of it?

would be there anyone to tip me off?

Anonymous If you liked it, then you should have put a ring on it. It's OK because "liked" is understood as past tense. You liked it in the past (possibly you still do), and you should have put a ring on it the past.
